Dr. Kuebbing is trained as an ecologist with expertise in conservation biology, invasion biology, plant ecology, community ecology, and ecosystem ecology. Dr. Kuebbing’s research focuses on how humans can make informed decisions on how to best manage and restore ecosystems. She is the inaugural director of YASSP, which is a research program that fosters open collaboration among practitioners, academics, private sector, and policymakers to develop applied science that guides sustainable land management. She is a member of the scientific leadership team of the Yale Center for Natural Carbon Capture, specializing in ecosystem capture. Dr. Kuebbing recently co-authored the U.S. Department of Energy report “Roads to Removal” that maps a plan to reach critical climate goals by increasing carbon uptake in forests.
