How to Apply

  • All application materials must be submitted through the Yale Online G.L.A.S.S. electronic application form
  • You will be required to create an account prior to starting your application. 
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required to setup your Yale Online G.L.A.S.S. account. Duo Mobile is the recommended MFA app, but you may use a different authenticator app if preferred.

  • Before you apply, please review the course information and calendar to ensure you are able to complete the course. 

Required Materials

  • Resume (English, maximum 3 pages)
  • Personal Statement Questions (2500 character limit)
    • Describe your goals, motivations, and interests in participating in this short course. Why are you interested in the course? What do you hope to learn? How will you apply the skills and knowledge learned? How does this course contribute to your career aspirations?
    • Please describe your experience related to corporate engagement in carbon markets. Are you currently, previously, or anticipating working for or advising private sector actors in their climate strategy or carbon market engagement? If yes, please describe your experience. If no, please tell us what relevant experience you will bring to a course on navigating corporate engagement in carbon markets. 

Application FAQs

Is there an application fee?  No.

What is required to submit an application?  The application consists of a few short answers (2500 character limit) to essay prompts designed to assess readiness and appropriateness for the course. You will also upload your resume. It should take no more than 15 minutes to complete the application. 

Are transcripts and letters of recommendation required?  No.

What is the early application deadline and how does the early application tuition work?  October 6th, 2025 is the early application deadline. Complete applications received prior to this application deadline are guaranteed to be considered for admission to the course. Only complete applications received before this deadline will be considered for the discounted tuition rate of $1200. 

What is the regular application deadline and tuition? The regular application deadline is November 3rd, 2025. The tuition for accepted applicants that apply after the early deadline of October 6th and before the regular deadline of November 3rd is $1400.

Are scholarships available? As a non-degree, not-for-credit course, traditional financial aid, including grants and student loans, is not available. However, we encourage you to enquire with your employer whether training and professional development funds may be applied to finance this course. We can provide documentation confirming acceptance to the course and enrollment status as useful for employer reimbursements. 

When will I receive notice of an admission decision? Early round applicants will be notified by October 17th. Regular round admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis. Upon submission of an application, you’ll receive a notification with additional information about decision timeline based on the current application volume, time of year, and other factors. Please contact us if you have any questions or may require an expedited application review. 

What is needed to secure a spot in the course? Accepted participants will complete an enrollment form and provide a $200 non-refundable deposit, which secures a place in the course.

Can my employer pay the course tuition on my behalf? Yes. 

I’m not sure if my professional and other commitments are compatible with the course work load and live session dates/time. What do I need to know before applying? We encourage any carbon professional excited by the course to submit an application. The expected time commitment is 5 hours/week over the six week course. You won’t need to make any other commitments until receiving an acceptance decision, which will specify the final course calendar. We have not set a day and time for the weekly live sessions. They are tentatively scheduled for Tuesdays 12pm EST/9am PST/4pm UTC, but participants will be able to indicate their availability when finalizing their enrollment.
